Social Media Class of 2011
This is awesome! Our fellow creatives at Flowtown put together a “Class of 2011” yearbook with pictures of our favorite social media graduates, including their memberships and favorite quotes, you know, just to get to know them better.
And if you’ve just gotta have it, you can even purchase the poster at the Flowtown store.

The Aroma of Change: Starbucks New Logo
When I first lay eyes on this all I could think of was “WHY?!”
Being the obsessed fans that some are -yes admit it! You would rather operate cranky due to caffeine withdrawal than settle for coffee in a non-siren branded cup- this comes as a really tough reality to accept.
Nonetheless, after the shock subsided, it occurred to me, I actually like it. It’s clean and refined, very fresh. Besides, who needs text, it’s not as if people won’t know what brand it is, don’t worry, you won’t be accused of betrayal.
Change never comes easy, but after that first push of resistance, give it another shot -or double- and you might find that your taste buds are actually a bit more satisfied than they used to be.

Floating Code

For it’s 10th annual Year In Ideas issue, The New York Times constructed a QR code made entirely of balloons to go on the cover, and yes it actually works too!

Absolutely brilliant.

Affirmations

Ben Cater, Editor-in-Chief of online creative magazine Forthelove, talks about the power of belief and its significance in forming your reality.

The most essential aspect I think, is not only your perceptions of yourself and the world around you, but the necessity to assess, examine, and alter those beliefs if they are -in his words- no longer serving you well.

Wasn’t there someone who once said “Everything you are arises with your thoughts, with your thoughts you make the world”?

Thanks Ben, looking forward to Part II!
